- The Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) provides counseling for active duty military personnel. The counseling can include evaluations, education, case management, and referral services for soldiers with alcohol and drug use problems. ASAP can provide referrals for retirees and family members of active duty soldiers through TRICARE.
- Mental Health Services is made of mental health providers that are trained in military issues. If you are an active duty military member, you can call for an appointment. They also take walk-ins between 7:30am – 4:00pm. You will get an evaluation and could be referred for other services including group or individual therapy. Providers are especially trained in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder depression, stress, and anger management.
-There is also a Fort Drum / Samaritan Behavioral Health Clinic off-post at 165 Coleman Avenue in Watertown which allows active duty soldiers to receive services off post without a referral. - Social Work Services (SWS) is open to soldiers and all family members ages 6 and up. Social Work Services provides counseling and support for many different relationship issues. You can receive individual, marital, family, and group counseling. This program also works closely with the Family Advocacy Program that helps victims of domestic violence. SWS also has a tele-psychiatry program in which people can talk to behavioral health providers from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. to help with their medication needs and child abuse/neglect issues.
