Working with Martin’s Point

What is the US Family Health Plan at Martin’s Point?

The US Family Health Plan at Martin’s Point is a TRICARE option for military families.  This program, under contract with the Department of Defense, offers the same benefits as the TRICARE Prime plan in certain areas of the country, including northeastern New York. The US Family Health Plan serves active duty family members and military retirees and their families.  Active duty service members cannot be covered in this program.

What mental health services does this plan cover?

The US Family Health Plan covers outpatient and inpatient care for mental health or substance abuse issues.  The benefits of the program are very similar to TRICARE Prime benefits.

Does a family member need to get a referral to receive behavioral health services?

No, you do not need a referral for the first eight outpatient behavioral health visits.  However, you must arrange for this care through the Behavioral Health Care Program to confirm your appointment and provider.  After you receive your first eight visits, the Behavioral Health Care Program must authorize additional visits.  A Customer Service representative can be reached at 1-888-812-7335.

Where can I find a provider that accepts Martin’s Point or US Family Health Plan?

Search for a mental health provider in the US Family Health Plan directory.  Many providers are located in the Watertown area and are accepting new patients.
